Mānawatia a Matariki!

He koha hei whakanui!

Matariki, Māori New Year is unique to Aotearoa and has been embraced by the whole country. It is a holiday that anchors our focus on whenua (land), moana (oceans), whetū (stars), and how we can care for and cultivate a sense of belonging where we live, our home (kāinga).

In 2023, in this time of collective renewal and connection among our families and communities, Matariki encourages us to think about what the concept of home means to us and how we can make it manifest in our lives.

Feel free to download, print, and share our poster in your home, office, or anywhere you’d like to share your thoughts.

Mānawatia a Matariki 2022!

We hope that you and your loved ones had a chance to come together and celebrate Matariki in its first iteration as a public holiday. In honour of this beautiful celebration, we’ve adapted one of our favorite resources to help you support your own collective practices of remembrance, the celebration of the present, and aspirations for the future.

Best used together with others, we hope that this Matariki ideas board assists in building inspiration for unity and the collective work towards lifestyles that nourish all places and lives. The Matariki Ideas Board is free* and we’d love to hear how you use it!
